Citroën CX FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Does this kit fit all CX versions? The kit is specifically designed for CX 2.5 GTI (M25/668 engine). Compatible with CX 2400 GTI with minor adaptation. For CX 2000/2200, CX Diesel, CX Turbo or CX 25 TRI, please contact us for compatibility check. CX Series 1 (1974-1985) and Series 2 (1985-1991) may have differences by year.

What's the difference from original Citroën hoses? Our silicone hoses offer triple the lifespan (10-15 years vs 3-5), remain flexible from -58°F to 356°F (rubber hardens from -4°F), better resist CX hydraulic system pressure, don't deform over time, discrete black color under hood.

Does installation require special skills? Installation accessible to competent DIY mechanics. Time required: 1-2 hours. Cooling system flush recommended. Basic tools sufficient (7-10mm wrenches). Warning: system under pressure when hot, wait for complete cooling. Instructions with hose identification included.

Do the hoses resist LHM hydraulic fluid? Our hoses are designed for cooling circuit only (water/glycol). For LHM hydraulic circuits (suspension/steering), we offer special LHM-compatible EPDM hoses. Never use VMQ silicone with LHM (rapid degradation).

Why replace hoses on a CX? CX cars are now 30-50 years old. Cracked original hoses = leak/overheating risk. Complex CX cooling system with front radiator and side exchanger. Prevention of costly damage (head gasket). Reliability improvement for regular use or collection.
