    Multiple Automotive and Industrial Applications

This 12mm female plug is perfect for temporarily sealing circuits during engine maintenance, blanking off unused outlets on intake or cooling manifolds, and protecting conduits during storage or transport of spare parts.

Ideal for cooling and air intake circuit leak testing, protection against dust and dirt during engine disassembly, and permanently blanking unused outlets after technical modifications. Compatible with light vehicles, vans, motorcycles, agricultural machinery and industrial equipment.

REDOX Permanent Stock and Express Delivery Benefits

Immediate availability from our French warehouse: any order placed before 5:00 PM is shipped the same day. Our partner carriers ensure delivery within 24 to 48 hours in mainland France, 48 hours within European countries and 72 hours for destinations outside Europe.

No more lengthy downtime: with REDOX you benefit from a permanent stock of over 15,000 references immediately available. Every order is carefully prepared and fully tracked.

The female design (internal blanking cap) allows easy insertion into hoses and conduits, held in place by friction against the inner wall. The 30mm length ensures good positioning while the 4mm thickness guarantees an optimal seal.

Pressure resistance: With a burst pressure of 24.0 kg/cm² (about 24 bar), this plug easily withstands the stresses of standard automotive circuits. The recommended working pressure is around 7 bar maximum to ensure optimal safety and maximum service life. This high resistance allows leak testing in complete safety.

Fluid compatibility: This plug perfectly resists water, glycol coolants, compressed air and oil or petrol vapours. Warning: it is not compatible with permanent contact with hydrocarbons (petrol, diesel, engine oil), which require an FVMQ (fluorosilicone) inner coating.

What maximum pressure can this plug withstand?

The burst pressure of this 12mm plug is 24.0 kg/cm² (about 24 bar according to the REDOX technical sheet). In normal use with full insertion (20-25mm), the recommended working pressure is around 7 bar maximum to ensure optimal safety and a long service life. For higher-pressure testing, reinforce with an external hose clamp.

Can I use this plug to seal a fuel circuit?

No, this standard VMQ silicone plug is not compatible with permanent contact with hydrocarbons (petrol, diesel, engine oil). For these applications, see our range of plugs with an FVMQ (fluorosilicone) inner coating specifically designed for fuels. To remove it, you can use slip-joint pliers, taking care not to damage the hose. Avoid sharp tools that could damage the silicone.

Is there a performance difference between the colours?

No, the mechanical and thermal properties are strictly identical regardless of the colour (Blue, Black or Red). Only the colour pigment differs. The choice of colour is purely aesthetic or can serve as a colour code for identification in your installations.

Does this plug withstand the extreme temperatures of the engine bay?

Yes, with its resistance from -50°C to +180°C continuous, this plug perfectly withstands the thermal conditions of the engine bay. It retains its elasticity and seal even when exposed to radiant engine heat or freeze/thaw cycles in winter.
