Technical construction

The REDOX RDX28MF1000 Megaflex is a unique silicone hose: a galvanised steel spiral is fully EMBEDDED in the multi-layer VMQ wall, setting it apart from a standard silicone hose. The spiral is not visible on the inside (100% smooth silicone bore) nor outside (matte silicone finish). This architecture provides extreme vacuum-collapse resistance, essential whenever internal pressure drops below atmospheric (sport air filter suction under high load, long pre-turbo intake line). Inner diameter 28 mm, length 1000 mm, composite VMQ + polyester + steel spiral wall. Thermal range -60/+180 deg C, peaks +210 deg C. Minimum bend radius 6 times ID (larger than a standard hose since the spiral prevents full closure).

Applications

Main intake duct on high-power turbo engines (above 500 hp), sport air filter suction (cone, airbox), pre-turbo air line, blow-off duct, high-flow breather, racing engine venting. Also used for compressor suction, engine ventilation, high-temperature cable sleeving. Compatible with gasoline, diesel, E85.

Benefits vs standard silicone hose

A standard silicone hose, even with 5 polyester plies, collapses under vacuum past a certain threshold (typical near the turbo at full load). The Megaflex, thanks to its internal steel spiral, keeps its cross section open at peak vacuum. Kink-proof: cannot be bent at 90 deg and locked, the spiral pushes the kink back. Smooth inner surface, flow rate equivalent to a standard hose of same ID.

Shipping and warranty

Dispatch within 48 to 72 hours, mainland France. REDOX 2-year warranty. Can be cut to length with a thin cut-off disc (deburr the spiral after cutting).
